Not too far back, the app HotelTonight let iPhone users find and book last minute deals and same-day hotel stays. Now two Irish brothers Arron and Ian Murphy are treading a similar path with a new smartphone app and website called the noshow.ie. This free to download app enables businesses cover losses from no-show customers offering last minute deals at discount prices to travellers without hotel bookings.
Noshow.ie allows restaurants, hotels and Bed and Breakfast places to advertise last minute deals and no-shows, free of charge. Those using this app can view accommodations available within two-mile from where they are.
When a sale goes through, hotel businesses have to pay 10% to noshow.ie as commission. This is just one third of that charged by other booking engines. Hotel businesses control postings on the website and through the app, by specifying a duration through which they want their last minute deals to be available.
This app offering last minute deals will first launch in Ireland and then hit the British market before becoming an international name.
